CRATCHLEY BOWL SUCCESS Congratulations to David Rundle on reaching the final of this year's Welsh Private Greens Cratchley Bowl competition after beating A.Jones of Merthyr West End at the neutral Cardiff Athletic green. In the final at Pontyclun, David lost 11-21 to Penylan's Welsh international, David Axon. Nevertheless, it is a great achievement to get to this stage of this prestigious competition. Well done, David!

|
St. Albans' 'Top Ten' bowlers held on to win Rhiwbina's tournament after a keen day's bowling on Rhiwbina's two greens. The first two sessions of the day were dominated by St. Albans, who claimed maximum points from their singles, pairs, triples and rink matches against Cowbridge, Whitchurch Hospital and the host club. Rhiwbina put in a consistent performance to keep in touch with the leaders, who stumbled to just two losing bonus points in the final session to finish equal with the home team on 26 points each. The trophy was decided by the vastly superior shots difference of the visiting team, who ended the day as worthy winners. |

team. In the final played on August 31 our County Seniors were beaten by West Glamorgan by a small margin. |
