As the name implies, games in this league
are played on Monday afternoons.
All members are eligible to put their names forward to play in this league
which allows bowlers of all abilities to meet and play in a competitive
but friendly atmosphere. In particular, it provides an opportunity for
newcomers to get to know other members of the club. The cost is £4 per
player.
There are usually ten teams, each comprising five/six bowlers. Rinks of four
players are picked in such a way that all players in a
team play the same number of games in a season.
Each team plays nine games throughout the season (i.e. against all the
other teams). Two points are awarded for a win and one point for a draw.
If there is no outright winner at the end of the season, a play-off game
is arranged.
Each of the members of the team which tops the league is presented with a
trophy at the Annual Dinner held at the end of the season.
