Competitions will be played on
Saturday,

Please note the competition rules and regulations
listed below.

ARRANGING
COMPETITION GAMES
* The player placed on ‘top’ in the draw is responsible for
contacting his opponent and arranging the game, which for singles
competitions should include organising a marker.
* If the player placed on ‘top’ tries but fails to contact his
opponent, as required, or is unable to reach agreement on a date or time
for the game, he should contact the Competition Secretary
well before the closing date for the round.
* When the player who is placed ‘below’ in the draw has not been
contacted by his opponent,
he should contact the Competition Secretary before the closing date.
* If a game has not been played by the closing date, the Competition
Secretary will usually award a “walk over” to the appropriate player. In
exceptional circumstances, which the Competition Secretary must be made
aware of before the closing date, a further 7 days after the
closing date may be agreed for the game to be played. Such
extensions are not possible for semi-finals, unless the
green has been closed
due to extreme weather conditions.
* If a game has not been played by the closing date and the
Competition Secretary has not been contacted by either player, both
players will be disqualified from the relevant competition.
* If a game with a previously agreed extension period is not played by the
new date and the Competition Secretary has not been contacted by either
player, both players will be disqualified.
*
All the above rules apply equally to all singles and pairs competitions.
* The Competition Secretary can be contacted by phone (029 2061 8890) or
by leaving a note for him
in a prominent place on the competitions board.
BOOKING
RINKS
* It is
vital that rinks are properly booked for all club competitions in fairness
and consideration
to those members who arrive to have a ‘roll-up’.
* Rinks are
generally available for reservation between the hours of 10am - 1.00pm,
4.15pm - 6.00pm and 6.00pm - 9.00pm. Rink
booking sheets will be displayed on the competitions board
at least two weeks in advance.
* Please ensure that club or
representative matches have not been arranged for the same time and date
you wish to reserve a rink, although the Competition Secretary will, where
possible,
mark such time slots as unavailable well in advance.
* WBA/County competitions always have priority over club
competitions.
Cratchley Bowl games have priority over all competitions.
* No club competitions are normally allowed to be played alongside matches,
the one exception being that club competitions can be played after
4.15pm alongside Alliance League matches.
* A maximum of four rinks can be booked for competitions at any one
time and date. Specific rinks
are allocated on the day of the game and on a first-come, first-served
basis, but if several matches are scheduled to start at the same time it
would be courteous if players were to draw for rinks.
IF IN ANY DOUBT, PLEASE REFER TO THE COMPETITION SECRETARY (MIKE
ALLEN)
OR TO THE CLUB SECRETARY (COLIN SPILLANE).
MANY THANKS FOR YOUR COOPERATION
