Rhiwbina has probably one of the best Short Mat Greens in South Wales. There are two permanent rinks, each approximately 22 metres long, located in a purpose built room at the Recreation Club.

The short mat game of bowls is extremely popular and involves a lot of skill and concentration. Although it is very competitive, it is also a very sociable, friendly and worthwhile sport; those who play derive a great deal of pleasure from it.

There is a Men's Indoor Bowls Section and a Ladies' Indoor Bowls Section at Rhiwbina. Those interested in joining should contact:
