As featured in the 'Western Mail',
our very own Alan Harrington

Alan spent his entire career at Ninian Park, joining Cardiff City in 1951 and remaining until he bowed out in 1966. He made 349 appearances for the club, after breaking into the side in the 1952-53 campaign and becoming an automatic choice in the 1954-55 season.

Alan won 11 Welsh caps from 1956-62, but unfortunately missed out on the 1958 World Cup squad due to injury. In January 1966 Alan broke his leg for the second time in two years, which ended his playing career - until he turned to bowls!

Alan remains a competitive player and is a regular at the Sunday evening roll-up, when his main ambition is to get Graham Griffiths to buy the drinks. Graham is reported to have said that Alan's best position is still left back (in the changing room).
It is good to see that team spirit is still alive at Rhiwbina!
